Police Rescue Tortured 12-Year-Old Boy in Viral Video; Two Suspects Arrested
Police in Half Assini rescued a 12-year-old boy seen in a viral video being tortured for allegedly stealing GHS 200. Two suspects, Issah Morro and Suleman Abdul Rashid, have been arrested and are assisting with investigations. The boy has received medical care and been handed over to his father.

The Ghana Police Service in the Half Assini Division has successfully rescued a 12-year-old boy who was brutally tortured, as captured in a disturbing viral video. The incident occurred at New Ankasa, a community near Elubo in the Western Region.
The video, which sparked nationwide outrage, showed the young boy tied with a nylon rope, hanging from a building’s roof while being subjected to severe beatings. The attack was reportedly punishment for allegedly stealing GHS 200.
Police have arrested two suspects identified in the video - Issah Morro (58) and Suleman Abdul Rashid (27). Both are in custody assisting with investigations.
The victim has received medical treatment and has been reunited with his father. The Western Regional Police Command assured the public of its commitment to safety and urged citizens to report any harmful or suspicious behavior to the nearest police station.
