Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has successfully undergone a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, to treat prostate cancer. The surgery, which lasted over four hours, was performed on Friday, June 13, 2025.
In a statement issued by his wife, Professor Mrs. Angela Ofori-Atta, the family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and prayers from the public and the clergy. She noted that the medical team was satisfied with the procedure’s outcome and that Mr. Ofori-Atta is now on a postoperative recovery plan.
Describing the period as challenging, she criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for issuing a red alert against her husband just days before his surgery. Despite the pressure, she said Ken remains strong and focused on his recovery.
The family thanked Ghanaians for their continued support during this difficult time.
