The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has confirmed the recovery of three vehicles allegedly taken unlawfully by former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah.
According to the CID, the recovery follows a formal petition submitted by GIHOC’s current management, accusing Mr. Jumah of unlawfully retaining company vehicles after his tenure ended. The police, acting on the complaint, secured an arrest warrant which led to Mr. Jumah’s apprehension and the retrieval of the vehicles.
Mr. Jumah is currently in custody and assisting police with ongoing investigations into the matter. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details but say the case is being treated with urgency and due process.
The development forms part of a broader effort by GIHOC to tighten accountability and asset management following internal audits. The case has attracted public attention due to Mr. Jumah’s former role and political prominence.
Further updates are expected as investigations progress.
