What was initially thought to be a tragic accident has now been confirmed as a case of murder, following an autopsy report from the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and a joint investigation by the Kaneshie Police Service.
The victim, whose identity is yet to be officially disclosed, was found dead on Monday at the Odaseni Hotel in Abossey Okai. Early reports suggested he had been drunk, fallen asleep on a table around 3 a.m., and fatally impaled himself on a metal object while trying to get down around 5 a.m.
However, forensic analysis has now revealed a far more sinister reality. The detailed autopsy uncovered signs of foul play, indicating the victim did not die from an accidental fall. Instead, he was murdered and deliberately placed on the metal object in a calculated attempt to make the death appear accidental.
“This was not a fall. The injuries sustained do not align with a simple accident. There are signs of foul play,” a police officer involved in the investigation told reporters on condition of anonymity.
In response to the disturbing revelation, the Kaneshie Police have formed a special investigative task force to probe the murder. Authorities have begun interrogating witnesses and are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas to trace potential suspects.
The shocking twist has left the community of Abossey Okai shaken, with many calling for justice and a swift arrest of those involved. Police have assured the public that every effort is being made to get to the bottom of the case.
