Youth Minister Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to prioritising youth empowerment at National Youth Conference
The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, has reaffirmed government’s strong commitment to prioritizing youth empowerment in Ghana. He made this known while addressing participants at the 2025 National Youth Conference, held at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh from September 4–5.

The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, has reaffirmed government’s strong commitment to prioritizing youth empowerment in Ghana. He made this known while addressing participants at the 2025 National Youth Conference, held at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh from September 4 to 5.
Hon. Opare Addo explained that the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment was created to address challenges facing young people, particularly unemployment, directly. He highlighted flagship initiatives such as the National Apprenticeship Program, which provides practical and employable skills, and Edwumawura, a program designed to support and empower young entrepreneurs
The Minister noted that this year’s conference has been structured to encourage meaningful dialogue and participation. Breakout sessions will cover critical areas including Artificial Intelligence, climate change, mental health, and entrepreneurial problem-solving. According to him, these sessions are designed to generate practical insights with real-world impact.
Concluding his remarks, Hon. Opare Addo urged participants not only to listen but to contribute actively to discussions and become agents of the Reset Agenda, aimed at catalysing positive change across the country.
