The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East Constituency, Hon. Emelia Ankomah, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving access to water, health, and education in her constituency with the commencement of a series of developmental projects.

On September 11th and 12th, 2025, the MP, in the company of Party Executives and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. George Anane Coleman, presided over sod-cutting ceremonies to begin the construction of mechanized and hand-pump boreholes across several communities.

Under the initiative, Kyekyewere will receive two mechanized boreholes, while Babianiha, Atobiase, and Meretwiso will each benefit from one mechanized borehole. In addition, Kona, Denyase Zongo, Rubbermu, Nsensaemu, and Ajrobobsoagya will each be provided with a hand pump. Hon. Ankomah disclosed that before the end of the year, a total of 20 boreholes will be constructed across the constituency to address long-standing water challenges.

As part of the tour, the MP also performed a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Babianiha to meet the community’s pressing demand for a healthcare facility.

In the area of education, Hon. Ankomah revealed that work has begun on a six-unit classroom block in Ntomtom to improve teaching and learning conditions for pupils.

She expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, acknowledging his pivotal role in facilitating the release of funds for the execution of these projects.

“These developments reflect our unwavering resolve to enhance access to basic necessities, healthcare, and quality education for all constituents,” Hon. Ankomah said, adding that her office will continue to champion initiatives that directly improve the lives of her people.
