Henrietta Nana Yaa Simpson has formally challenged the appointment of Commissioner of Police (Retired) Nathan Kofi Boakye as a member of the Ghana Police Council, describing the move as unconstitutional and discriminatory.
According to Simpson, the appointment violates established conventions that govern the nomination of retired police officers to the Council. She argues that it undermines fairness and sets a troubling precedent in the selection of representatives for such high-level bodies.
Her concerns have sparked public debate on the processes and transparency involved in key national appointments, with calls for greater adherence to the Constitution and long-standing traditions.
Authorities are yet to respond to her challenge.
