Ghana Air Force Z-9 Helicopter Missing After Take-Off From Accra
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the disappearance of one of its Z-9 helicopters after it took off from Accra on the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the disappearance of one of its Z-9 helicopters after it took off from Accra on the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, the aircraft departed at 9:12 a.m. en route to Obuasi but has since gone off radar.
Efforts are currently underway to establish contact with the helicopter, which was carrying three crew members and five passengers at the time of its disappearance.
The Acting Director General of Public Relations, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin of the Ghana Navy, assured that further updates will be provided as investigations and search operations continue.
The GAF has appealed to the public and media for patience as it works to ascertain the whereabouts of the missing aircraft.
