The Managing Director of Ghana Libya Arab Holding Company (GLAHCO), Gabriel Nii Kommey Adams, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight prominent Ghanaians on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region.

In a heartfelt message, Mr. Adams extended his condolences to the families of the victims, describing the incident as “a devastating blow to the nation” and “a painful loss of distinguished leaders and committed patriots whose contributions to Ghana’s development were invaluable.”

The crash claimed the lives of high-profile individuals, including Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and NDC National Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, among others.

Mr. Adams noted that the sudden loss of such exceptional leaders has created a void in both public service and national development. He called on all Ghanaians to unite in grief and solidarity, offering support to the bereaved families and praying for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.

“This is a time for national reflection and compassion. We must stand together as one people to honour their legacy and continue the work they dedicated their lives to,” he stated.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, with the Ghana Armed Forces confirming the recovery of the helicopter’s black box to aid in determining the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
