Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Mourns Victims of Military Helicopter Crash
Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed profound shock and sorrow following the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight prominent Ghanaians in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region.

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed profound shock and sorrow following the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight prominent Ghanaians in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region.
Among the deceased are Hon. Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment and Science; Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Dr. Samuel Sarpong, National Vice Chairman of the ruling NDC; Mr. Samuel Aboagye, former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flight Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
The tragic news was announced earlier today by the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Mr. Julius Debrah.
In a heartfelt message, former President Akufo-Addo said he had personally spoken with and extended condolences to President John Dramani Mahama and Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Chairman of the NDC. He also expressed sympathy to the Ghana Air Force and the bereaved families, praising the indispensable role of the military in national life.
“May they find peaceful rest in the Bosom of the Almighty, until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we shall all meet again,” the former President stated.
The nation continues to mourn the loss of these distinguished individuals whose service and sacrifice have left an indelible mark on Ghana.
