The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Okyere Panyin, has expressed his deepest sorrow following the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight dedicated servicemen on Wednesday, August 6.
In an emotional statement, Hon. Panyin described the incident as a “painful and irreparable loss, not only to the Ghana Armed Forces, but to the entire nation.” He noted that these men were more than just officers in uniform, they were fathers, brothers, sons, and friends whose courage and sacrifice were invaluable to Ghana’s peace and progress.
“This is a dark moment for our country,” he said. “The void their passing leaves in our hearts can never truly be filled. Their selflessness, bravery, and dedication will forever be etched in the nation’s memory. We must rally around their families, offering them not only our condolences but our love, prayers, and unwavering support.”
Hon. Panyin called on Ghanaians to unite in grief, setting aside political, ethnic, and social differences in order to honor the fallen heroes. He urged the nation to reflect on their legacy of service and to ensure their sacrifices inspire a renewed commitment to unity and patriotism.
The Minister further prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families, assuring them that their loved ones did not die in vain. “They left this world while serving the motherland they loved dearly. For that, Ghana will forever be indebted to them,” he said.
