Amb. Bishop Sam Owusu, Peace Advocates Visit Speaker Bagbin to Advance National Peace Agenda
Delegation discusses peace-building strategies and national development following Bishop Owusuโs induction as AU Agenda 2063 Special Envoy

Ambassador Bishop Sam Owusu, accompanied by members of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA Ghana) and executives of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, and the Clerk of Parliament.
The high-level delegation visited Parliament to extend their congratulations to Speaker Bagbin for his distinguished leadership of Ghanaโs 8th and 9th Parliaments, widely praised for its peaceful and effective direction.
The visit also marked a significant moment following Amb. Bishop Sam Owusuโs induction as the Special Envoy of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly. Discussions during the meeting centered on collaborative efforts to bolster peace advocacy in Ghana as a strategic pillar for national development.
Key among the discussions were initiatives aimed at implementing systems and structures to strengthen peace-building, promote civic responsibility, and advance the African Unionโs Agenda 2063 goals.
The Speaker expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the teamโs commitment to championing peace and development across the country and the continent.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for synergy between civil society, religious institutions, and state leadership in sustaining peace and stability in Ghana.
