The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is urging the public to remain vigilant following a wave of fraudulent recruitment activities targeting unsuspecting job seekers across the country.
In an official statement released Monday, the Agency warned that individuals posing as YEA officials are exploiting the ongoing recruitment drive for Community Police Assistants and Fire Service Assistants by soliciting payments from applicants under the guise of processing fees.
“We wish to inform the general public that YEA does not charge any fees at any stage of the application or recruitment process.Any demand for payment including the widely reported GHC 500 scam,is false and should be ignored ,” the Agency stated.
YEA emphasized that all official communications are conducted through its verified platforms and not via private phone numbers or unofficial social media accounts.
Applicants are therefore advised to verify any recruitment information directly with the Agency to avoid falling victim to fraud.
The Agency also encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest YEA district or regional office or alert the Ghana Police Service.
This latest warning comes amid YEA’s ongoing efforts to provide employment opportunities under its flagship modules, including support roles in the Ghana Police Service, Fire Service, and Prisons Service.
The Agency has reiterated that the entire application process remains completely free of charge.
YEA urges all job seekers to stay alert and rely solely on its official website and communication channels for updates.
