A male student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been found dead in his hostel room after reportedly locking himself in for several days.
According to reports, the student had been battling a chronic wound, which led to his roommate moving out. Sources say he often kept to himself and would frequently lock himself in his room, avoiding interaction with others.
His lifeless body was discovered after a strong stench began to emanate from his room, raising concerns among other hostel occupants. Some students, alarmed by the foul odor, broke into the room only to find him unresponsive.
The incident has left the university community in shock. Authorities are yet to release an official statement as investigations continue into the exact cause of death.
