President John Dramani Mahama has expressed profound sorrow over the death of celebrated Ghanaian highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a statement issued shortly after news of the music icon’s passing, President Mahama described Lumba’s contribution to Ghanaian music as unparalleled.
“Lumba’s unmatched musical genius provided the soundtrack to our lives, carrying us through various phases of life. The beats to his memorable songs may have died down, but his enduring legacy will echo through the ages,” the President said.
The President, speaking on behalf of the Government of Ghana, extended heartfelt condolences to Daddy Lumba’s family and loved ones, describing the loss as irreplaceable.
Daddy Lumba, widely regarded as one of the greatest highlife musicians in Ghana’s history, produced several timeless hits over his decades-long career, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s music industry.
