Parliament Mourns Loss of Senior State Officials and MP in Helicopter Crash

Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, together with the entire leadership of the House, has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic passing of senior state officials, including ministers of state and a sitting Member of Parliament, in Wednesday’s fatal helicopter crash.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, together with the entire leadership of the House, has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic passing of senior state officials, including ministers of state and a sitting Member of Parliament, in Wednesday’s fatal helicopter crash.
In a statement issued by Parliament’s Media Relations Directorate, the Speaker extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Ghana, describing the incident as a monumental loss to the nation.
“Parliament is deeply saddened by this news and would want to, at this time, express its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and indeed the entire Republic,” the statement read.
The Speaker further prayed for the souls of the departed to rest peacefully, noting their service and dedication to the Republic of Ghana.
The crash, which occurred at Adansi Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, claimed the lives of eight persons, including key government officials and members of the security services.
