Ghanaians are expressing shock and outrage over a disturbing video circulating on social media, showing a young boy being subjected to abuse. The footage, described by many as heartbreaking, has reignited calls for stronger enforcement of the country’s child protection laws.
The 1992 Constitution of Ghana guarantees every child the right to protection, education, healthcare, and freedom from torture or inhumane treatment. It also prohibits hazardous labor and ensures equal care for all children, regardless of their background. However, what is seen in this video represents a clear violation of these rights.
Advocates are now urging Child Rights Ghana and other relevant authorities to take swift and decisive action to investigate the incident and ensure that justice is served.
The video has sparked nationwide debate on the need for stronger child welfare systems and better community vigilance to protect vulnerable children.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
