The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people on August 6, 2025.
In a statement signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party described the incident as a devastating blow to the bereaved families and the entire nation.
“Their passing is not only a devastating blow to their families but also a profound loss to the entire nation they worked to protect and build,” the statement read.
The NPP extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for God’s comfort and strength during what it called “an excruciatingly difficult period.”
The party further called for a thorough, transparent, and swift investigation into the cause of the crash, stressing that accountability is crucial to prevent future tragedies.
“The dignity of the lives lost demands answers and accountability to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again,” it added.
The NPP also urged Ghanaians to unite in grief, prayer, and compassion, supporting the families affected by the disaster.
The military helicopter crash, which occurred earlier in the day, resulted in the deaths of all eight people onboard, including senior national officers. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined as investigations are ongoing.
May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.
