Immigration Officer Disappears After Friend Allegedly Pays GHS200k

An officer with the Ghana Immigration Service, Stephen King Amoah, has been reported missing under mysterious circumstances since Thursday, July 3, 2025.

According to family sources, Amoah left home that evening after receiving a phone call from a friend who allegedly owed him GHS200,000. The unidentified friend reportedly asked Amoah to meet him at Ashongman Estates to repay the debt. Before leaving, Amoah informed his wife of the meeting.

Later that night, his wife who was away from home received a suspicious message from Amoah’s phone claiming he had returned safely with the money. Doubting the authenticity of the message, she requested Amoah’s brother to check on him at their residence. To the family’s shock, Amoah was not home and has not been seen or heard from since.

Efforts to reach him have been unsuccessful. His mobile phone remains switched off, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

In a surprising twist, the friend who allegedly arranged the meeting admitted to the police that he met Amoah and not only paid the GHS200,000 debt but also gave him an additional GHS300,000 to keep safely. The friend has since been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

The unexplained disappearance has left the Amoah family deeply distressed. They are pleading with the public and law enforcement agencies for swift intervention and assistance.
