GNFS Recovers Body of Schoolgirl Found Dead in Pool at Tomefa

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have retrieved the lifeless body of a schoolgirl from a pool of water at Tomefa in the Ga South Municipality. The tragic incident occurred on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025.
The deceased, identified as Gloria Segoe, was reportedly in the area to visit her boyfriend. According to the GNFS, the rescue operation started at 10:02 PM and concluded at 10:42 PM.
After successfully retrieving the body, officials handed it over to the police. Authorities have since launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to the young girl’s untimely death.
The incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, with calls for increased public vigilance around water bodies.
