GNFS Recovers Body of 4-Year-Old Boy from Well
Fire Service Responds Swiftly, But Child Pronounced Dead Upon Retrieval

A heartbreaking incident occurred in Jerusalem, a suburb of Techiman in the Bono East Region, where a 4-year-old boy tragically drowned in a well.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly to a distress call reporting the incident. A team of seven firefighters, led by Station Officer II Amos Tang, was swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the rescue team employed ropes and lines to retrieve the boyโs body from the well. Sadly, he was pronounced dead upon recovery.
The GNFS Bono East Regional PRO, who filed the report, extended condolences to the bereaved family and urged parents and guardians to ensure open wells and other water bodies are safely secured to prevent similar tragedies.
The incident has left the local community in mourning.
