Deputy Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has joined the nation in mourning the eight dedicated compatriots who tragically lost their lives in the helicopter crash on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, at Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom area of the Ashanti Region.
In a deeply emotional statement, she reflected on the profound impact the fallen heroes had on Ghana, describing them as “pillars of service, men whose lives were woven into the fabric of our national progress.” She noted that their tireless dedication to duty and unwavering commitment to the public good serve as an enduring example for all citizens.
“These were not just names on a list,” she said. “They were fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, friends, and colleagues. They carried with them the dreams of a better Ghana, the hopes of those they served, and the courage to face challenges for the sake of our nation’s future. Their absence will leave a silence that echoes in our hearts, but their work and sacrifice will continue to speak to us for generations to come.”
Quoting the words of President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo reminded the public of the need for unity in times of grief:
“This is not a time for division, speculation, or political point-scoring. It is a time for strength, for empathy, and for the enduring Ghanaian spirit that still stands tall when all else fails. Let our words be of comfort, our actions be of kindness, and our unity be the tribute we offer to those whose lives have been lost.”
She further urged Ghanaians to allow this tragedy to serve as a moment of national reflection , a time to honor service, deepen solidarity, and renew commitment to the values that hold the nation together.
“My deepest condolences go to the families, loved ones, and colleagues of our departed compatriots,” she said. “May the memories of their selflessness be a constant reminder that greatness is not measured by titles, but by the lives we touch and the sacrifices we make for others. May the Lord grant us the grace to bear this loss, and may their souls rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
