Several parts of the Ashanti Region experienced unexpected power outages on Wednesday following an unusual incident involving a snake.
According to officials, the disruption occurred when a snake came into contact with the Akyawkrom 2 feeder cables, creating a bridge to the ground and triggering a system fault. This resulted in widespread outages across affected areas.
Engineers were quickly deployed to restore power and investigate further safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The situation has since been brought under control.
Residents are advised to report any unusual sightings near electrical infrastructure.
