In the wake of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight distinguished Ghanaians, including Ministers of State, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has penned a deeply emotional tribute mourning the loss of his close friend and mentor, Kofi Omane Boamah.
Struggling to contain his grief, Sam George described Kofi as more than a colleague, calling him “the elder brother I didn’t have.” He recounted how Kofi had been instrumental in shaping his political journey, especially in the last seven months since his appointment as a Minister.
“Who would guide me now? You have been my compass and guiding light these past seven months since I was appointed Minister,” he wrote, lamenting the void left by Boamah’s passing.
In the tribute, Sam George expressed disbelief and profound pain over the tragedy, questioning why such misfortune would befall someone he described as calm, warm, and deeply caring. He recalled Kofi’s devotion not just to politics but also to family, noting how Boamah often checked on his children’s education and supported him both personally and professionally.
“My faith is shaken. My belief is gone… We are told to give thanks in all things. How can I give thanks in this?” he wrote, highlighting the deep emotional toll the tragedy has taken on him.
The late Kofi Omane Boamah’s impact, Sam George added, extended beyond the political sphere, touching lives with compassion and unwavering support.
The nation continues to mourn as funeral arrangements are yet to be announced for the victims of the devastating crash.
