Qatar Ambassador, Education Minister Discuss Stronger Ties; Islamic Medical School Planned for Northern Ghana
Qatar’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Khalid Bin Jabor Al-Mesallam, met with Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu in Accra. The Minister announced plans to establish an Islamic Medical School in the Northern Region, linked to UDS. Qatar pledged support for future collaboration.

The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ghana, His Excellency Khalid Bin Jabor Al-Mesallam, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister for Education, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, in Accra.
The meeting, described as warm and productive, focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the education sector. Both parties underscored the importance of deeper collaboration between Ghana and Qatar’s Ministries of Education.
A major highlight of the engagement was Minister Iddrisu’s announcement of plans to establish an Islamic Medical School in the Northern Region. The proposed facility will also serve as a teaching hospital for the University for Development Studies (UDS), aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and medical education in the region.
Ambassador Al-Mesallam welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting future partnerships in education and development.
