The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for a total reset of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), arguing that the institution, in its current form, is unfit to deliver credible elections.
Speaking in an interview, the Chairman criticized the leadership of the EC, accusing the Electoral Commissioner and her two deputies of repeatedly failing in their responsibilities. He asserted that no election conducted under their watch has been properly managed, pointing to what he described as a pattern of incompetence and mismanagement.
The NDC Chairman emphasized that a major shake-up is necessary to restore public confidence in Ghana’s electoral system. He called for the immediate replacement of the Electoral Commissioner and her deputies to pave the way for reforms that would ensure future elections are free, fair, and transparent.
