Minister of Education Urges WAEC to Ensure Timely Release of 2025 BECE Results
The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has urged WAEC to release the 2025 BECE results on time to reduce anxiety among students, parents, and schools. He also commended WAEC for successfully organizing a smooth and well-coordinated examination this year.

The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has appealed to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to expedite the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. He emphasized that timely publication of the results is crucial in easing the anxiety often experienced by candidates, parents, and school authorities as they await placement outcomes.
Speaking in Accra, Hon. Iddrisu acknowledged the vital role WAEC plays in Ghana’s educational sector and lauded the Council for the smooth and well-coordinated conduct of this year’s BECE. He praised WAEC’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process, despite the logistical and operational challenges often associated with nationwide exams.
The Minister further urged WAEC to sustain its standards of transparency and efficiency, while assuring the public that his ministry remains dedicated to working closely with the Council to ensure continuous improvement in the examination and placement processes.
The 2025 BECE, which saw thousands of final-year junior high school students across the country sit for their papers, was conducted without major incident, a development that has been widely applauded by stakeholders in the education sector.
