Kwabena Agyapong Set to Join NPP Flagbearer Race - Announcement Expected Soon

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, is reportedly preparing to officially declare his intention to contest in the party’s upcoming flagbearer race, according to reliable party sources.

Mr. Agyapong, a seasoned politician and longstanding member of the NPP, is expected to make his announcement in the coming days as the party gears up for its crucial 2026 presidential primaries.

Having previously served as Press Secretary to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Mr. Agyapong played a key role in shaping the NPP’s communications strategy during the early 2000s. He was also a contender in the party’s 2008 presidential primaries, earning national recognition for his poise and vision.

His potential entry into the 2026 race adds a significant dimension to an already anticipated contest, with former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other leading figures expected to compete for the flagbearership.
