The announcement was made by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), during a launch event held earlier today.
Running from April 13 to October 13, 2025, the Expo is themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” Ghana’s highlight will be the celebration of “Ghana Day” on September 11, 2025, dedicated to showcasing the nation’s digital transformation journey.

He further announced a series of activities including an ICT Business Forum and business-to-business (B2B) sessions designed to connect Ghanaian innovators with Japanese industry leaders and investors. The forum will address digital trends, challenges, and foster collaboration that could lead to strategic partnerships.
Looking ahead, the Minister revealed plans for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan covering digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology transfer. “We are eager to tap into Japan’s expertise to train Ghanaian youth and strengthen our digital ecosystem,” he emphasized.
Representing the Japanese Ambassador, Deputy Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Naoki Mitori praised Ghana’s commitment to ICT advancement. He said the Expo will deepen the flourishing bilateral ties between Japan and Ghana and noted Ghana’s expected presence at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in August.
Mr. Mitori confirmed that “Ghana Day” at the Expo will feature strong participation from the Ghanaian government, serving as a milestone in Ghana-Japan relations.
The event is being coordinated in partnership with key Ghanaian institutions, including the National Communications Authority, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), GMet, Ghana Domain Name Registry, National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Ghana Cyber Security Authority, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
