The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued a two-week ultimatum to the government, demanding the immediate implementation of a unique salary structure and improved conditions of service for its members in the Civil and Local Government Services.
In a letter dated June 12, 2025, and addressed to the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, CLOGSAG cited mounting pressure from its members and expressed deep frustration over the government's delay, despite multiple correspondences and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
Following an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on the same day, the association declared that it expects a positive response from the government by June 30, 2025. Failure to comply, it warned, would leave the association with no choice but to declare a nationwide strike.
The NEC referenced earlier letters dated December 20, 2024, and May 6, 2025, stressing that negotiations on the new salary structure remained an “unfinished business.” Copies of the letter have been sent to key stakeholders, including the Chief of Staff, Civil Service Council, Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS), Local Government Service Council, and Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS).
Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo signed the letter on behalf of the association.
