President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to the rule of law, stating that not even the Office of the President is above the law.

Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Accra, President Mahama emphasized the need for integrity, honesty, and discipline in leadership, urging public officials to uphold the highest standards of accountability.

“Even the office of the president, which I now hold, is not above the law,” he declared, drawing applause from the gathering of religious leaders, government officials, and citizens.

He called on all leaders — political, religious, and traditional — to lead by example and put the nation’s interests first. The President’s remarks come at a time of heightened public concern over governance, justice, and national unity.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving brought together Ghanaians of various faiths to seek divine guidance and reflect on the values needed to build a stronger, more united country.
