President John Mahama bid farewell to outgoing US Ambassador Virginia Palmer, praised her service, and reaffirmed Ghana–US relations.

President John Dramani Mahama has extended his heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing United States Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia E. Palmer, during a cordial farewell meeting held recently.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, President Mahama described the meeting as “pleasant and productive,” emphasizing the strong and enduring relationship between Ghana and the United States. He commended Ambassador Palmer for her dedicated service and meaningful contributions throughout her tenure in Ghana.
“I had a pleasant farewell meeting with Virginia E. Palmer, the outgoing US Ambassador to Ghana. We had a productive discussion about the strong ties between our two nations,” President Mahama wrote.
He further expressed gratitude for her commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and wished her the very best in her future endeavors. “Ghana deeply values its relationship with the United States,” he affirmed.
Ambassador Palmer’s tenure has been marked by significant diplomatic engagements, support for democratic governance, and partnerships in development, trade, and security. Her departure marks the end of a chapter in the continued collaboration between the two nations.
The farewell comes at a time when both countries look forward to strengthening diplomatic and economic relations, building on the foundations laid during Ambassador Palmer’s service.
