The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has issued a strong reminder to all registered businesses, company directors, secretaries, and partners in Ghana to file their Annual Returns and renew their Business Names or Partnerships by 30th June 2025, warning that no extension will be granted beyond the deadline.
In a press release dated 14th April 2025 and signed by the Acting Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, the ORC cited sections of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), Incorporated Partnership Act, 1962 (Act 152), and Business Name Act, 1962 (Act 152), which mandate businesses to comply with these statutory requirements.
The ORC emphasized that failure to file Annual Returns with financial statements will result in a penalty of GH¢1,000 in addition to filing fees, while persistent non-compliance could lead to deregistration and legal or financial consequences. Business Names not renewed will lapse and risk being removed from the register.
The ORC encouraged business owners to use the USSD code *222# for convenient payment or visit ORC offices nationwide. The public is advised to contact the ORC on 0302-666-081 or WhatsApp/Telegram 059-952-5774 for further details.
