Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programmes, Augustus  Goosie Tanoh, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for what he describes as a determined and transparent approach to restoring credibility in governance.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Tanoh praised the President’s swift accomplishments during his first 120 days in office, stating that they reflect a renewed sense of purpose and a clear vision for national transformation.

“I think that the social contract, the 120-day contract, and the fact that he has achieved all those milestones show a new, renewed determination and purpose,” Tanoh said. “That sets the landscape for what is to come. He has demonstrated clearly that he means business and also means to promote, protect, and expand business.”

Tanoh also threw weight behind the flagship 24-Hour Economy initiative, describing it as more than just an economic policy but a shift in how the state engages citizens and the private sector.

“One of the interesting things is that the reset agenda is also about the state and the way the state relates to the citizenry, relates to businesses and other institutions,” he explained. “Because without an efficient and friendly state, investors will run away, and it becomes a barrier to progress.”

On the issue of corruption, Tanoh applauded President Mahama’s introduction of a Code of Conduct for public officials, describing it as a strong signal of the administration’s commitment to integrity and accountability.

“Some of the anti-corruption things he has done, such as the Code of Conduct, are to lead the way. This dispensation means business and we will do it,” he stated firmly.

Tanoh’s comments come at a time when the government is intensifying efforts to roll out the 24-Hour Economy policy  a transformative strategy aimed at creating jobs, increasing productivity, and accelerating inclusive economic growth by encouraging around-the-clock activity in key sectors including healthcare, transportation, retail, and manufacturing.

The 24-Hour Economy policy has already gained traction among various stakeholder groups and is being touted as a game-changer in Ghana’s quest for economic revitalization.
