In a bold move to tackle youth unemployment and promote sustainable livelihoods, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East, Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom, has officially launched the BizBox Projects: Agric and Agro-Processing to Entrepreneurship (AA2E) initiative.

The programme, being implemented through the Gomoa East Business Advisory Centre (BAC), is in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), and is designed to offer free training and business support to young people aged 15 to 35 years.

Speaking at the launch, the DCE reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, stating that the AA2E initiative aims to equip participants with practical skills and resources to build resilient businesses and achieve economic independence.

The training areas under the project include:

1. Fruit Juice Processing

2. Cassava Processing

3. Oil Palm

4. Coconut Oil Processing

5. Livestock

6. Beekeeping

7. Mushroom Farming

Special priority will be given to women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to promote inclusive participation.

Beyond hands-on training, the project also offers:

Free business registration with the Registrar of Companies

Free FDA product registration (for one product per business)

“This initiative is not just about skills training; it's a full package of empowerment, compliance, and business support,” the DCE emphasized. “We want to see our youth become job creators, not job seekers.”

Interested youth are encouraged to visit the Gomoa East BAC Office at the District Assembly in Potsin or call 0591857202 for registration and further inquiries.

Isaac Obed Saah, from the Office of the Gomoa East DCE, signed the official communication, calling on all stakeholders to support the vision of building a future defined by inclusive growth, innovation, and economic freedom.

The launch of this initiative is being widely praised as a timely intervention to address youth unemployment and promote entrepreneurship in the district.
