Ghana Hosts Chinese Investor Delegation, Eyes Industrial Hub Status for Africa

Hon. Julius Debrah, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, hosted a Chinese investor delegation at the Ghana-China Business Summit 2025. He urged Chinese manufacturers to tap into Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy agenda and strategic position to help make Ghana Africa’s industrial hub. The delegation leader, Mr. Chen Xiaowei, praised Ghana as "the China of Africa in the making" and called for stronger institutional support for investors to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Office of the Chief of Staff, led by Hon. Julius Debrah, has hosted a high-powered delegation of Chinese investors as part of the Ghana-China Business Summit 2025. The delegation, made up of senior representatives from Chinese state-owned enterprises and private conglomerates, is exploring opportunities to deepen economic ties and investments in Ghana.

Speaking on behalf of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Debrah urged Chinese manufacturers to capitalize on Ghana’s strategic location, political stability, and the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy agenda to position the country as an industrial powerhouse for the continent. He emphasized Ghana’s readiness to partner with global investors to drive industrialization, create jobs, and promote shared prosperity.

Mr. Chen Xiaowei, who led the Chinese delegation, lauded Ghana’s economic vision, describing the country as "the China of Africa in the making." He stressed the importance of robust institutional support to sustain investor confidence and ensure the success of joint industrial projects.

The summit is expected to lay the foundation for new partnerships in manufacturing, infrastructure, and technology, as both nations work towards strengthening economic cooperation and fostering mutual development.
