The Ghana-China Business Summit has officially opened, signaling a major boost for Chinese investment in Ghana. The summit was inaugurated by Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with China.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Julius Debrah revealed that over 560 Chinese businesses have expressed interest in investing in Ghana, with more than 100 Chinese manufacturing ventures already operating across the country. He emphasized Ghana’s strategic position as a gateway to West Africa, backed by political stability, strong logistics, and a business-friendly climate.
The five-day summit focuses on key economic initiatives, notably the government’s plan to develop a 24-hour economy. This policy aims to extend business operations through special incentives, ultimately boosting productivity and creating jobs.
Julius Debrah’s message highlights the Mahama administration’s proactive efforts to attract foreign direct investment, particularly in manufacturing, as Ghana positions itself as a prime investment destination in the sub-region.
