The President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has officially resigned from his position, citing persistent interference from the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Director General of the National Sports Council.
In a strongly worded resignation statement, the GBA President accused the two top officials of meddling in the affairs of the Authority and pursuing ulterior motives that, in his view, undermine the integrity and independence of the sport's governing body.
He stated that the continued interference has made it impossible for him to carry out his mandate effectively, adding that his decision to step down is in the best interest of Ghana boxing.
The resignation has sparked concerns within the boxing community, with some stakeholders calling for immediate investigations and a clear boundary between political leadership and sports administration. Neither the Ministry nor the Sports Council has officially responded to the allegations.
