While confirming that he has not received the money, Ananzo expressed no bitterness, instead showing appreciation for the doors the moment has opened in his life.

The saga began after a video of Ananzo passionately vibing to Davido’s song "Kante" while working at his washing bay went viral. The energy and authenticity in the clip caught the attention of social media users across West Africa, eventually reaching Davido himself. The Afrobeats icon reposted the video on his Instagram story, tagging Ananzo and expressing admiration for his vibe.

Not long after the repost, rumors began to swirl online that Davido had promised Ananzo a gift of $5,000 in appreciation. This quickly sparked excitement among fans and led to widespread speculation. However, in a recent interview, Ananzo clarified the situation.

“To be honest, I haven’t received any money from Davido yet,” Ananzo said. “But I’m not angry at all. Just being reposted by someone like him has changed my life. People now recognize me. I’ve met celebrities, gained fans even in Nigeria. That’s worth more than money to me.”

He further noted that $5,000 would be a small amount for Davido and his 30BG crew, so he believes if it was truly meant for him, it might still come one day. “The 30BG family dey big. $5,000 be nothing for them, so if God say make e come, e go come,” he added with a smile.
