Agradaa’s Husband Defends Her After 15-Year Sentence, Calls for Prayer and Faith

Pastor Eric Oduro Asiamah, husband of the convicted evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has broken his silence following her 15-year prison sentence.

Speaking to the press, Pastor Asiamah revealed that the conviction was largely based on reports filed by some members of their church, who accused Evangelist Agradaa of defrauding them during an all-night service held three years ago. According to the complainants, she had promised to double their money but failed to deliver.

However, Pastor Asiamah has strongly refuted these claims, insisting that the incident has been grossly misunderstood. “What happened was nothing more than the collection of offertory, which is a standard and accepted practice in churches across the country,” he said. “There was no deception involved. People gave willingly, as they always have.”

He urged the church’s congregation and sympathizers not to lose faith. “This is a difficult moment, but we ask all believers and well-wishers to remain prayerful. We believe this is part of God’s greater plan for our lives and ministry,” he added.

The case has sparked widespread public debate, especially due to Evangelist Agradaa’s controversial past and high-profile transformation from a traditional priestess to a Christian evangelist. As legal processes continue, her husband’s comments have further intensified discussion around religious practices, fraud, and the line between faith and exploitation in Ghana’s church landscape.
