Actress Kalsoume Sinare Appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to Spain
Veteran Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe has been appointed as Ghana’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain by President John Dramani Mahama.

Veteran Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe has been appointed as Ghana’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain by President John Dramani Mahama.
Her appointment, announced on June 21, 2025, was confirmed in a statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama. Sinare’s nomination is part of a broader diplomatic reshuffle involving 15 new appointments, including ambassadors, high commissioners, and a consul-general designate, tasked with advancing Ghana’s interests globally.
A household name in Ghana’s film and entertainment industry, Kalsoume Sinare is widely respected for her contributions to cinema, public discourse, and advocacy.
At 58 years old, she brings a rich blend of public engagement, leadership, and academic experience to her diplomatic mission. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Public Service and Governance from the same institution in 2021.
Sinare also holds a Diploma in Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon, and has distinguished herself as a strong advocate for women’s empowerment, youth development, and creative arts policy.
Sinare’s transition from the screen to diplomacy marks a significant step in recognizing the role of creative professionals in international relations and nation branding.
