President John Dramani Mahama has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to declare their assets by July 15, 2025, in line with the constitutional requirements of public office.
Addressing the MMDCEs during an orientation and training program in Accra on Wednesday, July 18, the president underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in public service.
“I wish to remind you that you are among the officeholders required to declare your assets, and so I expect that by July 15, all of you will have done so,” he said.
President Mahama noted that asset declaration is a critical step in combating corruption and fostering public trust in government officials at all levels.
Since assuming office in January 2025, he has ensured that all his appointees have complied with the constitutional mandate to disclose their assets.
Article 286 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana requires all public officers appointed to office to declare their assets before assuming office and upon leaving office.
