Morkporkpor Fiador Begins 240-Hour Marathon Reading Aloud Challenge at National Children’s Library
In a historic attempt to break the world record for the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud, Ghanaian literacy advocate Morkporkpor Fiador has officially begun her 240-hour challenge at the National Children’s Library, Airport-Accra.

In a historic attempt to break the world record for the Longest Marathon Reading Aloud, Ghanaian literacy advocate Morkporkpor Fiador has officially begun her 240-hour challenge at the National Children’s Library, Airport-Accra.
The initiative, dubbed "Read-A-Thon", is not only a record-breaking attempt but also serves as a powerful advocacy platform for dyslexia awareness, literacy improvement, and the importance of reading culture among young people.
With a reference number 240210142054LMRA, the challenge commenced on 18th August 2025, and is expected to span 10 days of nonstop reading. Supporters, reading enthusiasts, and members of the public have already begun trooping to the venue to cheer her on.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Fiador emphasized that beyond setting a world record, her mission is to inspire children, promote inclusivity in learning, and strengthen Ghana’s reading culture.
The event is attracting attention both locally and internationally, with strong anticipation that Ghana could soon celebrate a new Guinness World Record holder.
