After months of delay in paying over 8000 teachers under the double track system, which ministry of education attributed it to a data entry system challenge facing the Ghana education service, but thank God, the problem has been rectified and payments due these teachers have been paid fully by government.
Unlike the previous administration, where a teacher will work under GES for a year or more but will receive two or three months back pay and expect the arrears in the next world, the current administration has allayed the fears of teachers by given them every pesewa owed them by government under the double track system.
Paying these teachers with all arrears till date by government, is a clear indication and indubitable demonstration of government preparedness and commitment in making education his priority.
I urge government to be swift in responding to the needs of teachers as demonstrated, to mitigate possible strikes or rampant teacher absenteeism which affects the academic calendar.
We are always ready and committed to give out our best in the line of our duty, to produce quality and knowledgeable intellectual human resource for this country.
As a colleague teacher and on behalf of my colleagues, we say; thank you, your Excellency, the president of the republic of Ghana for doing the needful and it is our hope and anticipation that, the needs of the teacher will always be first on your agenda.
Once again, we are prodigiously grateful.
Long Live Ghana!!!
Long Live Teachers!!!
