On 16th July 1948, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah established the Ghana National College of Cape Coast.
The College celebrated its 71st speech and prize giving day on the theme “Delivering Quality Education For Transformational Leadership”.
The school has trained numerous persons who are contributing their quota to the development of the country.
The former vice chancellor of UEW, Prof Jophus Anamuah Mensah who chaired the occasion touched on the theme and its usefulness in present times and said, how education is impacting on us as a people is a concern to all stakeholders.
The former vice chancellor of UEW further stated, the performance of children at all levels of education is a matter that concerns every one.
He admonished, training transformational leaders to occupy various positions in the country should starts now.
Mr Joseph Ato Sarpong said,The headmaster of the school revealed, the school has two hundred and one teaching and non teaching staff adding a students population of three thousand, one hundred and ninety two.
He commended the staff for maintaining discipline
and training students wholistically to take their rightful place in society.
The headmaster also appeal to government to aid the school to get accommodation for staff, assembly hall and a school bus.
CEO of Ghana Exim Bank, Mr Lawrence Agyinsam who was the guest speaker of the occasion advir the students to stay focused, to be determined and disciplined in their studies in order to succeed in life.
He asked them to take the technological initiatives seriously to enable them transform the economy.
