Breaking News: UG Vice Chancellor Accused Of Sexual Harassment

The Chief Executive Officer of Africa Integras, Andrea Pizziconi, has accused the Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana, Professor Ebenzer Oduro-Owusu, of sexual harassment.

In a twitter post on Monday that replied to the BBC’s post about the now viral #SexForGrades documentary, Andrea Pizziconi alleges that the ‘sex for grade’ investigative piece that highlighted issues of sexual harassment in selected Universities including the University of Ghana, was a theme she identifies with, being a victim herself.

She stated that her company, Africa Integras, fronted a $64million infrastructure investment at the University of Ghana which was defaulted upon by the current Vice Chancellor.

“I have remained mostly quiet despite the battery of attacks by Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu on my dignity. I was advised not to make waves and definitely not to raise the #metoo flag if I wanted to put the project back on track, which I do. Now I feel compelled to speak up and draw a direct line between this sex scandal and our derailed project,” she said in a twitter post.

According to her, in  August 2017, representing Africa Integras, she met with the University’s governing council. At the meeting, the Vice Chancellor suggested that an agreement between the company and the school which was previously agreed and subsequently signed into contract, was no longer valid as it was ”signed under duress in a hotel room”.

“Nothing could have been further from the truth and in fact of all my dealings at UG and in Ghana it was this VC who made me most uncomfortable,” she noted.

Andrea Pizziconi further alleged that Prof Oduro-Owusu refused to collaborate with her to redeem the Africa Integras project because she was ”far too pretty to worry my little head about the project” while asking others present at the meeting to ”turn around, everyone, I want to give her a proper hug”.

”My not doing so landed me in the headlines for years with attacks against my character and credibility despite the buildings sitting on campus for anyone to inspect. Now tens of thousands of young people have been deprived of those buildings since I was told I was ‘far too pretty’ to worry about livelihood” she added.
