Reports reaching Ghpage.con has it that, the member of parliament for Sekyere East District has allegedly slapped his female DCE and pushed her to the ground ahead of the president’s visit to the district capital, Effiduase.
According to the reports the MP, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie and District Chief Executive, Mary Boatemaa Marfo were exchanging heated words over which buses the NPP executives in the constituency will use to convey the members to the durbar grounds to meet the president who is on tour in the Ashanti Region.
At a point, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie allegedly slapped Mary Boatemaa Marfo whiles the Constituency Chairman and other executives looked on. The MP again pushed the female DCE to the ground.
“He slapped her in the face, pushed her on the ground as the Constituency Chairman and other executives looked on”, eyewitness narrated.
Although a formal complaint has been filed with the Effiduase District Police Command for investigations, the party executives have promised to resolve the problem between the two-party leaders as soon as possible.
The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo rounded up 3 days working visit to the Ashanti Region at Effiduase in the Sekyere East District on Friday, 11th October 2019.
The visit was meant to inspect infrastructural projects currently ongoing in the Ashanti Region. With him during the visit was Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Roads Minister Kwaku Amoako-Attah, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture and other appointees.
